About

I coach strength. That has meant competitive lifters, field and court athletes, people rebuilding after injury, and a lot of ordinary people who wanted to get meaningfully stronger and were tired of guessing.

Most of what I know about coaching came from being under the bar first, and from being coached badly and well enough to tell the difference.

I own and operate a strength and conditioning facility. Running the floor day to day is most of the job — programming, coaching, staffing, equipment, and the unglamorous operations work that keeps a training room worth walking into.

I studied Integrative Physiology and Molecular, Cellular & Developmental Biology, and I've kept up continuing education in program design, biomechanics, and recovery since.

Work

Athlete coaching

Owner and operator of a strength and conditioning facility. Floor design, equipment selection, staffing, programming standards, and membership operations.

Program design

Long-cycle strength programming and return-to-training work, including athletes coming back from injury or long layoffs.
